Usually the link between line and leader, snap swivels can play an important role in allowing for a quick change of rigs and lures while keeping twists and kinks out of everything between the angler and fish. Crane swivels have a much improved design over traditional barrel swivels. The eyepiece ends inside the swivel not on the outside. This gives the swivel much better performance under heavy pressure and prevents friction within swivel itself and line twists much better. Because of this feature however, crane swivels are more expensive, but if you want to prevent line twisting it's better to spend the extra cash.
